Brochure informs telephone and internet users of rights

A brochure designed to raise consumer awareness of their rights when dealing with telephone companies and internet service providers has been launched.

The brochure provides details of the consumer codes governing the behaviour of the telecommunications industry on matters such as billing, privacy, credit management and customer transfer. It has been jointly released by the Australian Communications Industry Forum (ACIF), the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) and the Australian Communications Authority (ACA).

Copies of the code are available from ACIF, the TIO, the ACA, Consumer Groups and Community Legal Centres. An electronic copy is downloadable from the ACIF website
