The popularity of broadband internet services has surpassed expectations, with over one million Australians having taken up the service to date.
According to the latest Australian Competition and Consumer Commission 'Snapshot of Broadband Deployment' report issued recently, there were 1,047,800 broadband services connected across Australia at the end of June 2004.
This figure has been reached with an increase of 349,100 services over the first six months of 2004. In June 2004, broadband growth increased to 26.3 per cent, up from 18.7 per cent in the previous quarter.
