Telstra joins with ABC

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) has awarded its fixed and mobile services contract to Telstra.

The contract, worth $7 million for Telstra over two years with a further on-year option, was put to tender last year and was subjected to a highly competitive process. The largest providers in the country bid for the rights to deliver the ABC's telecommunications requirements.

The deal sees Telstra retain the provision of the ABC's mobile services including fixed to mobiles, and extend its commitment to include the delivery of fixed line connections.

The agreement follows other recent contract wins for Telstra in the business and government sector, including Qantas and David Jones.
