Satellite comms company Vizada is now supplying Thuraya services to the Asia–Pacific region, following the launch of its Thuraya-3 satellite in January.
Service provider SatComms Australia will work alongside Vizada to service the Australian market.
“It’s clear there is a real need for a high-quality handheld satellite service providing voice telephony and an affordable internet connection in remote areas,” said David Campbell, business development manager at SatComms Australia.
The company considers its potential customers to be mining and resources companies, transport and fleet operators, and leisure boating and yachting clients.
SatComms Australia will provide support to customers of the service through a customer service centre.
