Concerns about network coverage have overtaken price as the primary concern for Australian companies considering mobility, a new study has found.
According to telecom market researcher Telsyte, which conducted the study, the change in priorities is due to increased carrier competition.
"Mobile services have become so commoditised and competition has become so intense that businesses can now obtain cheap and comparable prices from any carrier," said Warren Chaisatien, research director at Telsyte.
Telstra’s recent shutdown of the CDMA network also figures in the change of opinion, according to Chaisatien.
"The decommissioning of Telstra's CDMA network has also heightened the role of network coverage, something Australian businesses might have taken for granted previously."
The study surveyed more than 900 business decision makers throughout Australia.
