Remote Australia gets 3G phones

Companies are looking at ways to use the best of technology to reduce costs and for the first time they are now able to leverage the 3G networks around Australia to offer remote businesses an alternative.  Using the Matrix system, Australian businesses can combine the advantages of 3G to benefit from real-time wireless communications.

In the past, remote areas meant high cost and expensive microwave or fibre links costing potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars. The Matrix phone system can now be installed at a small fraction of this.

Bruce Williamson from Powertec, the distributor of Matrix systems, says, "For as little as several thousand dollars, companies can implement a complete phone system on a 3G network on their carrier of choice.”

The modular design also allows a company to expand its communication needs as required and not have to deal with expensive costs that are currently incurred with other offerings. On top of this, the remote location ability to configure the system over the internet is also a key feature of the system. This allows clients to allow dealers to reconfigure the system as and when required.
