Sirius wins comms contract for new BHP Billiton HQ

Sirius Telecommunications, as sub-contractor to CSC Australia, has secured a four year contract worth over $3 million to supply and manage BHP Billiton's communications systems at its new global headquarters.

Working with CSC Australia, Sirius will provide new communications hardware and software as well as ongoing services. These services include IP telephony and unified messaging as well as reporting and billing to cost centres.

The BHP Billiton global headquarters will be located in its new building in Queen Victoria Village in Melbourne, due to open in the second half of calendar 2003.

Sirius has been providing facilities management services at four sites for BHP Billiton over the past two years. Under this new contract, Sirius will no longer be responsible for paying carriage charges. The net effect of this change will reduce revenue slightly but result in higher net margins to Sirius.
