NetComm has launched the NB8W - a fully featured ADSL2+ broadband modem that is the latest addition to the PerformaPlus series of high-end internet hardware.

The PerformaPlus series is designed to deliver robust performance to handle multiple processor-intensive internet applications simultaneously including: VoIP, video-on-demand, high definition multimedia streaming, web-serving/hosting and online gaming.

The modem uses an advanced Broadcom chipset. It comes with the latest ADSL2+ broadband technology and offers a comprehensive range of router, wireless and security features.

For added versatility, the NB8W includes a USB port, four-port ethernet switch and an 802.11g wireless access point, making connection easy for both wired and wireless users.

Security is also a key feature of the modem, with active firewall technology protection including stateful packet inspection (SPI) and a host of other wireless security features including wireless encryption protocol (WEP), Wi-Fi protected access (WPA) and 802.1x authentication.
