EnGenius 3610S/8610S series access points, ultra long range wireless hardware combines powerful output capabilities with signal sensitivity, providing up to 25 times better network coverage than previous long-range access points.
This powerful range of hardware can operate in either 2.4 or the 5 GHz frequency spectrums. The hardware range supports the 802.11b as well as the faster 802.11g and 802.11a wireless standards.
The 3610S/8610S series provide high-capacity, high-security, enterprise-class features in an office-class design, delivering WLAN access with low cost of ownership.
The series supports Pre Share KEY, Wi-Fi Protected Access, WPA2 and numerous Extensible Authentication Protocol types. WPA and WPA2 are interoperable, standards-based WLAN security. The series support IEEE802.1X for user-based authentication, Temporal Key Integrity Protocol for WPA encryption and Advanced Encryption Standard for WPA2 encryption.
The series hardware-accelerated AES encryption supports enterprise-class, government-grade secure encryption over the WLAN without compromising performance. IEEE802.1X authentication helps to ensure that only authorised users are allowed on the network. Backward compatibility and support for WPA client devices running TKIP, the RC4 encryption algorithm, is also supported by the series.
This line claims to provide hardware for every environment, with products designed for indoor and outdoor settings. The device is ready to install and easy to manage, reducing the cost of deployment and ongoing maintenance.
The recently updated dual band indoor multi-client access point, the ECB-8610S, can transfer data via point-to-point or point-to-multipoint connectivity. The outdoor dual band hardware, including the EOC-8610S-EXT and the EOC-8610S-PLUS, is robustly designed to withstand any outdoor weather conditions, making it suitable for linking two buildings.
To complement the 8610S range, the company has introduced its latest offering, the 2.4 GHz 3610S range which offers higher power, VLAN support and better sensitivity. This includes an ultra long-range indoor access point with WDS, and an outdoor ultra long-range access point/multi client bridge. The 3610S uses the Atheros chipset, which is excellent in offering more stable links.
