Research In Motion (RIM) has introduced the BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone with touch-sensitive trackpad and dedicated media keys.

The dedicated media keys, integrated along the top of the handset, enable simple control of music and videos.

The smartphone, with access to email, messaging (IM, SMS, MMS) and social networking sites, features full-QWERTY keyboard. Wi-Fi enabled, it has good multimedia capabilities.

Its features include: 256 MB Flash memory; 512 MHz processor; voice-activated dialling; Bluetooth (2.0) support for hands-free headsets, car kits, stereo headsets and other peripherals; 2 MP digital camera with zoom and video recording; advanced media player for music, pictures and videos, with dedicated media keys and a 3.5 mm stereo headset jack; BlackBerry Media Sync; BlackBerry Internet Service support for access to up to 10 supported email accounts; and BlackBerry Enterprise Server support for advanced security and IT administration features for corporate deployments.

It has an expandable memory via hot swappable microSD/SDHC memory card slot, supporting up to 16 GB cards (and 32 GB cards when available), a 2 GB card, built-in Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) and quad-band world phone: EGDE/GPRS/GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz).
