D-Link has announced the compact DWA-131 Wireless N Nano USB Adapter combining speed and greater range of 802.11n Wi-Fi technology with ease of use.

The adapter provides a simple way to upgrade the wireless network performance of a desktop or notebook computer. It connects to a Wireless N network so users can access high-speed internet services, transfer files and stream media from anywhere.

The router’s Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) feature enables it to establish a simple, one-time, single-click connection with an access point or wireless router, eliminating complex encryption codes. WPS also offers security features that are simple and easy to configure. D-Link’s Quick Setup Wizard sets up the USB adapter and includes Wireless Manager that helps to keep track of recently accessed networks.

The adapter uses 802.11n technology to maximise the speed and range of wireless signals and is claimed to significantly outperform 802.11g devices while maintaining compatibility with existing 802.11b/g wireless routers and access points.

All D-Link Wireless N products use smart antenna technology to transmit multiple streams of data - bouncing wireless signals off walls and ceilings to work around obstructions and help eliminate dead spots - allowing users to receive wireless signals from the farthest corners of their office.
