An expansion of F5 Networks’ WAN application delivery services, the BIG-IP WAN Optimisation Module (WOM) accelerates data transfer over the network by optimising traffic and bandwidth through the use of adaptive compression and deduplication technologies.
It enhances data centre-to-data centre replication of applications, reducing bandwidth costs, with a claimed increase in transfer rates up to 70 times over existing methods. It ensures data is replicated quickly and reliably at speeds greater than 1 Gbps - which is claimed to be faster and less expensive than other alternatives.
