The ProCurve 5400 is an enterprise-class Layer 3 switch chassis, offering 10G ethernet support, security functions and optional wireless LAN capabilities.

Available in both 6- and 12-slot chassis options, the flexible chassis design uses the ProVision ASIC to deliver high performance and reliability switching and routing. The 5400 shares a common architecture with the smaller 3500 stackable switch, and the larger 8200 datacentre switch.

The 5400 chassis is IPv6 ready, and able to grow to a maximum of 144 wire speed Gigabit Ethernet ports. Advanced traffic handling features are included as standard. Voice over IP and video conferencing are supported automatically via layer 4 prioritisation, quality-of-service features and traffic shaping.

The switches are covered by free firmware upgrades and free next business day replacement warranty for the life of the product.
