The ProCurve Wireless Edge Services Module provides automated security and management features for a wireless LAN. Suitable for enterprise and campus environments, the module is designed to slot into ProCurve 5400 and 8200 switches.

The module works in conjunction with ProCurve Radio Ports, which allow zero-configuration WLAN deployments. Radio Ports offer both 802.11a and 802.11g, have adjustable power level outputs, and are automatically detected and configured. Enterprise-wide security settings and monitoring features are also automatically configured when new radio ports are plugged into the network.

Guest accounts for the WLAN can be set up using web-based RADIUS authentication, and further restricted to time of day, or duration of access.

In addition, the Wireless Edge Services Module offers layer 3 mobility domains. Mobility domains allow WLAN devices to automatically remain connected to the network as they roam across access points, and even across subnets.
